Setup issues with EE full fibre broadband using Smart Hub 7 Pro

In UK using EE Full Fibre Broadband. When inputting the correct wireless network name and password the station will connect to EE Smart Hub 7 Plus but will not connect to EE Smart Hub 7 Pro and shows error code 202-07. Tempest hub shows a red and green light. Tempest support suggested the Tempest requires WPA2. Strange as both hubs default to WPA3. Anybody any suggestions?

Can you set up separate wifi SSIDs for the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radios? In the past, the older Tempest Hubs that only spoke 2.4 GHz got confused with a few wifi network access points that had the same wifi SSID on both radios…

Thanks for your response. This is a new 2026 Tempest less than two weeks old.

I have the old skys, old tempest and the 2026 tempest. I also have a “smart” asus mesh system.

When I first upgraded the smart system everything was ok and then I started to get the hub dropping out. This was caused by the smart system being too smart and in essence gave all three systems the same name.
In the end I stopped the smart system and changed it back to three different names, since then I have NOT had any drop out across any of the hubs. So even though the 2026 tempest is 2.4/5 Ghz it still expects different names.

I find this strange…my Aruba AP’s are both set with the same SSID for 2.5 and 5Ghz. The only difference is they are set for WPA2/WPA3. I’ve never had a problem with the Tempest or Sky hubs connecting via wifi.

I put it down to the actual router being the problem, not the hub. its all about how they handle it. I don’t think they all do it the same way. As mentioned mine was fine for ages but then it throws a wobbly.
