Received my DHL shipment here in U.K. (Southampton area) today (3-12-20) a day ahead of schedule.

Package had DHL security tape (think that is pretty much standard now).

Contents complete (including bird protector - nearly missed it as I hadn’t expected a small envelope with self assembly parts!).

No backup battery (forum users by now should understand that these did not ship with Tempest), but had already made alternative arrangements with Weatherflow.

So far so good. Won’t be testing the system for a couple of days, but so far, very happy - we got there (finally!) - thanks Weatherflow!

DHL delivered my Tempest today at 11.00 am. It had been repacked by DHL. There was no USB power bank inside or any instructions at all. except a small brown card saying “Not Happy?”
I guess the USB power bank will arrive by an alternative route.

Received my tempest today in UK , after just 2 days shipping , and 1 day earlier than informed.
quick and easy to setup , 9 month wait but very happy . very good communication from DHL .

Apologies to Weatherflow, there was an instruction leaflet in the box, but it was stuck to the lid on the inside of the box, so that you could not see the printing.
Does anyone have any idea when and how the free extra USB powerbank will be delivered.
David.

My DHL delivery was also scheduled for 7th, but arrived early (Friday 4th).

Simple setup, it’s outside now grabbing what light is left of this snowy day.

Shame they send international replacement via USPS. Mine shipped from Daytona Beach on 30/11 and has only made it to Miami so far.

DHL delivered today (Saturday) so one (working) day early.
Setup was a very straightforward process - hopefully everything now runs smoothly.

No information was included about how to claim the battery, but I’ve read elsewhere we need to contact them directly about this.

At last - it’s arrived.

Everything set up easily … but no battery voltage data. :man_shrugging:

Have you turned on the battery card in settings? It is in Advanced options.

Ah! Right. Sorted! :+1:
Many thanks.

Disappointed that the pressure reading is so far out.
The actual height for the location was set automatically, and correctly, to 14.5m AMSL.
But I live 500m (level ground) from an airport with an accurate weather station and pressure reported every 30 mins. Today the pressure is almost not changing (fog - no wind!) but the Tempest was reporting 5mb too high.
Set height ASL to -20m to sync the reading … but this is not giving a good impression of the quality of the sensors/firmware. Why display mb to 1 decimal place when the inaccuracy is 50x that value?

Just set it to the correct hight and let it run for a week or so. Calibration will kick in and adjust it.

If calibration doesn’t work, open a support ticket. Mine was 5 hPa above what it was meant to and support had to manually calibrate it for me.

Thanks for that info. :+1:

Is there any news on shipments to Australia? The latest update indicated that shipments would begin on December 4, but I haven’t received any information or updates. It is very frustrating.

The pressure self calibrates after a day of use, if it doesn’t contact WF. I’ve found my rain meter too sensitive but afaik, this self calibrates too. CL System for Pressure calibration explained

New Tempest shipped to Rangiora NZ as per communication from Weatherflow, and received within timeframe of email notification via DHL - pity I was away on business and only back home tonight (1 week after it arrived).
Now to setup and configure - need a new pole as the one I use for my Davis appears to too big as can’t slip the sleeve over it. Will tackle that this week. Can’t wait to get it working alongside my Davis 6163.

A post was merged into an existing topic: False Rain Reports

I recently received my Tempest and now have it set up in York Western Australia, wasn’t there supposed to be a battery backup for the hub supplied as reward for the delays, is it being sent separately???
