I’d like to use my Tempest WS data for Ham APRS Weather. Has anyone done this? Thanks
WeeWX has third-party station driver support for Tempest, and can easily run on a Raspberry Pi.
WeeWX has Internet-based APRS (and CWOP) uploads to the gateways via a built-in integration.
There are how-to articles on the web for making WeeWX transmit via 2-meter RF.
I had APRX running on a second Raspberry Pi operating as a digipeater, and also transmitting WeeWX data via an HT for about a week. A lightning strike fried the Pi before I made a backup, and I haven’t had the motivation to rebuild the setup again…
Man, same thing here, except lighting got my gateway back in 2016 not long after I bought it and got it all running. I guess I took it as an omen from the Radio Gods at the time and just didn’t bother to rebuild my system. But in the time it was running I learned a lot of cool stuff and there was still plenty yet to learn so I think I am going to purchase a new gateway and give it another shot. Cheers! Jim - AF5XW
