Hey all, wanted to share something I’ve been building that recently made it into the App Store.

I’ve been a software engineer for over 20 years and have owned a Tempest for about 5 years now.

I’ve always loved weather, but I realized I spent a lot of time looking at all the numbers from my station without really understanding what the atmosphere was doing or why it was doing it. :sweat_smile:

That eventually turned into Zenith Weather.

Zenith is an iPhone and iPad weather app, with Android almost ready, built around understanding the weather, not just checking a forecast.

Tempest integration was important to me from the beginning because I wanted the observations happening in your own backyard to be part of that picture.

With a Tempest connected, Zenith brings your station observations together with local NWS forecasts and alerts, interactive radar, nearby observations, and National Weather Service Area Forecast Discussions with weather terminology explained in context.

You do not need a Tempest to use Zenith, but Tempest owners get a much more personal view of what is happening around them.

Would love to hear what other Tempest owners think.

For anyone that does try it out and you are on a new radar site that hasn’t been viewed before it takes a minute or so for it to come online and start processing.

After that initial cold start though it should be good to go.

I gave it a try, but it doesn’t seem to work in Canada at this time…

And this is my bad for not specifying that this initial release currently depends on several US specific National Weather Service data sources. Sorry about that

Canada is definitely something I’d like to support though.
